Description:

Karela is a herbaceous plant grows up to 5 meter long and it bears separate male and female flowers.When the fruit is fully ripe it turns into orange color, then it is splits into segments to expose seed cover in bright red pulp

Karela also known as ‘Bitter Gourd’, ‘Bitter Melon’ or ‘Momordica Charantia’, contains Gurmarin (a polypeptide) which acts like bovine insulin.
